Cline
Choose OpenAI Compatible in Cline, point the base URL at the gateway, and use any vendor's model in VS Code.
Cline is a coding agent for VS Code that supports OpenAI-compatible providers.
- Open Cline settings and set the API provider to OpenAI Compatible
- Base URL:
https://api.tokrouter.dev/v1 - API key: your
sk-token - Model ID: a catalog id such as
claude-sonnet-5
Tool use is required
Cline relies on tool calls to read and write files and run commands. A model without tool-use support stalls on the first step.
Context on long tasks
Cline accumulates context across turns. Prefer models with a large context window (see the context column on Models); otherwise long tasks hit the limit near the end.
